Terms of service

What you can do with the data, what you cannot, and what each of us owes the other.

Version 1.0 · Last updated 25 July 2026 · FindAndClose AS, Norway

The short version

You may use the data you export to contact businesses. You may not resell our database, and you may not use it to spam anyone. Cold-email rules differ sharply by country and following them is your responsibility, not ours — we tell you what they are. Credits are allocated monthly; how long unused ones survive depends on your plan. You can cancel at any time, from your account, in one click.

1. Who these terms are between

These terms form an agreement between FindAndClose AS ("we") and the company that opens an account ("you"). This service is sold to businesses only. You will be asked for a VAT or company registration number when you first subscribe to a paid plan, and you confirm you are acting for a business and not as a consumer.

2. What the service does

We give you a searchable index of business records assembled from public sources, and the ability to export matching records as CSV and XLSX files. Coverage, freshness and field completeness vary by country and category. We do not warrant that any particular business, email address or telephone number is present, current or correct — the sample export published on our site shows honestly what typical fill rates look like.

3. The free trial

Seven days and up to 100 export credits, with every geographic capability unlocked — city, county, region and whole-country search, radius and polygon, all filters and both file formats. The trial is not a reduced version of the product.

No credit card is required, and the trial does not convert into anything. When the seven days end, exporting stops until you choose a plan. Nothing is charged, and there is nothing to cancel. Anything you exported during the trial remains yours. One trial per company.

4. Credits

One credit exports one business. The same business exported more than once in any 30-day period costs one credit, not two, so refining a search and re-exporting does not charge you twice.

Credits are allocated at the start of each billing period. How long unused credits survive depends on your plan: they expire at the end of the month on Starter, carry over for one month on Growth and three months on Scale. Credits have no cash value and are not refundable.

5. Payment

Subscriptions are billed in advance, monthly or annually, by our payment processor Stripe. Prices are in euros and exclude VAT. For customers in the EU with a valid VAT number, VAT is reverse-charged. You can change plan or cancel at any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for, and access continues until then.

If a payment fails we will retry it and email you. If it keeps failing we may suspend the account. We do not delete your export history when this happens.

6. Refunds

If you meant to cancel during the trial and did not, tell us within 30 days of the charge and we will refund it. Beyond that we do not refund part-used periods, because the credits have already been spent on real work.

7. What you may and may not do with the data

You get a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use exported records for your own business development. You may load them into your own CRM and contact the businesses in them.

You may not:

  • resell, republish or redistribute the records as a dataset, or build a competing directory or lead-generation product from them;
  • share your account, your API token, or your exports outside your own organisation;
  • use the service to send unsolicited messages to individuals, or any message that breaks the marketing law of the recipient's country;
  • contact anyone who has told you, or told us, to stop;
  • use the data to make automated decisions about individuals, or for any purpose involving special-category data;
  • attempt to extract the underlying database in bulk, whether through the interface, the API or otherwise.

8. Your obligations when you contact people

The moment you export a record, you become the data controller for how you use it. That is not a formality — it carries real duties, and they are yours:

  • Say where you got their details. Article 14 GDPR requires it, and you agree to name FindAndClose as the source in your first message to any contact obtained here.
  • Offer an opt-out in every message, and honour it immediately.
  • Obey the law where the recipient is. Cold email rules vary enormously — B2B email is effectively prohibited in Germany and Austria without prior consent, while cold calling there is generally permitted; the UK, France and the Netherlands are considerably more permissive. We publish a country-by-country guide, but the responsibility for following it is yours.
  • Screen against the relevant opt-out registers before calling, including Reservasjonsregisteret in Norway.

Tell us at privacy@findandclose.com if someone asks you to remove their details, and we will suppress them for everyone.

9. API and fair use

The REST API is included on every plan and is rate-limited to 120 requests per minute. Keep your token secret; you are responsible for what is done with it. We may throttle or suspend usage that threatens the stability of the service for other customers, and we will tell you why if we do.

10. Availability

We aim for high availability but do not offer a contractual uptime guarantee on standard plans. We depend on public data sources that can change without notice; if one changes shape, parts of the index may be stale until we adapt. We will say so publicly when that happens rather than quietly serving degraded data.

11. Liability

The service is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period, and we are not liable for lost profits, lost business or indirect losses. Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited, including death, personal injury, fraud or gross negligence.

You are responsible for your own use of exported data, including any regulatory action or complaint arising from how you contacted someone.

12. Ending the agreement

You may cancel at any time from your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaches §7 or §8, and we will tell you which term and why. On closure you keep files you have already downloaded; your licence to use them continues, subject to §7.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Norwegian law, and disputes go to the courts of Oslo. If we change these terms materially we will email account holders at least 30 days beforehand, and you may cancel before the change takes effect.

Status of this document. It is written to be read and understood rather than to be impenetrable, and it accurately describes how the service works today. It has not yet been reviewed by external counsel; that review is scheduled and this page will be re-issued afterwards. Questions: legal@findandclose.com.
